The “First Look” Mistake
A lot of couples get told to do a "first look" (a first look is when the couple sees each other before the ceremony). Some couples do it for romantic reasons and some do it to get photos out of the way ahead of time.
But guess what?
The best lighting for photos does not happen earlier in the afternoon way before the ceremony. It happens much later.
So why ruin that beautiful moment of seeing each other walking down the aisle for a "first look" to get photos out of the way ahead of time when the best lighting happens later on, not earlier in the day?
Catch my drift? Also, when you have a good photographer, photos don't take that long either! you get to enjoy your friends and family more during your wedding day with a good pro.
Obviously, if you are doing a "first look" for romantic reasons, then that's a different story.... but don't make the mistake of doing it to "get photos out of the way", that only applies to photographers that do not know what they're doing.
